Risk-Free Guarantee- I am a firm believer in the old slogan, "We don't look good if you don't look good." That's why I offer a risk-free guarantee. After all, I have a "rep to protect!" You are protected by my Reshoot, Retouch or Refund policy. I can offer this because 1.) I believe in my skills as a photographer and 2.) I believe in Photoshop! Finally, if no amount of Photoshop trickery can make you happy, you pay nothing. No hard feelings, really.

Step 2Fix the Picture

Retouching - $0

Because the high megapixel digital cameras are less forgiving, basic retouching including perfecting the skin, softening facial lines, and whitening the eyes and teeth are needed.

Graphic Enhancements - $0

Capturing the images is just the first part of the session. The real fun begins when we play with color options, layouts and overlays.

Step 3Print the Picture

Printed Enlargements

The studio offers printed enlargements from wallets to wall sizes starting at just $10. You may order the sizes you like, in the quantity you like - you don't have to fit into a pre-determined package.

You will make your selection before you leave the studio. Additionally, an online gallery may be created for reprints and for sharing with friends and family.

Reasons to Choose Korey as your Photographer

Experience - With more years' experience than I wish to admit, I am skilled in lighting, posing and creative direction. I know how to draw out your personality and make you feel comfortable in front of the camera. I can look at you and know immediately what features to highlight and which to diminish.

Makeup and hair - I am a trained makeup artist and will make sure you are touched-up and camera ready.

Photoshop - Anything I can't fix with photography, I can fix with Photoshop! Believe it or not, I can fix those little imperfections like blemishes, wrinkles and, yes, even a double chin.

Style - I consider myself a "photo stylist." I have an eye for composition and for finding flattering angles. I don't shoot stale, stiff or formal poses. I prefer to capture a moment in time that expresses who you are. Shine, baby, shine!

Graphic Enhancements - In addition to photography, I have worked as a graphic designer so I have mad skills in taking the images and creating either marketing materials or what I like to call "photo-graphics." I can make the images really come alive with cropping, special effects, composites, gallery treatments as well as business card, greeting card, advertisement or announcement design, etc.

Studio - My studio is located in Northwest Austin with plenty of parking. You don't have to go to the mall and you don't have to travel to an "iffy" neighborhood. If you prefer natural lighting, on location shooting is great and I have scouted fab venues close to the studio.

Value - Don't be fooled by photographers offering low sitting fees - either they don't have experience and therefore don't feel deserving of charging within the industry standards or they give away the sitting and gouge you on the prints. I feel my value is in creating images you want to print. I charge accordingly for my time and expertise.

The Process

Step 1Schedule your appointment.
To schedule your appointment, send an email or call me at 512-331-7744.

Step 2Arrive for your session.
Arrive for your session with your hair and makeup the way you normally wear it. Ladies - bring your makeup bag with you including powder, mascara and your favorite lipstick. Once you arrive at the studio, I will assess what touch ups we need to do to make sure you look your very best.

FUN IDEA: If you really want to go the whole nine yards, why not splurge and have a professional do your hair and makeup? I work with several makeup artists and hairstylists who would be happy to serve you - either before you come or meet you at the studio. Their fees generally run between $65-$125. Ask me about it and I'll hook you up!

Step 3Say Cheese.
Because the studio is all digital, there is no limit to the number of exposures you'll get. I like to step through the session with about 8-10 frames at a time. We will review each set of images on the computer and if we like what we see, great. Otherwise, we'll make changes to the lighting, the background, your hair, your pose, etc. I find that most people relax and really get into it once they see themselves on the computer (retouched, of course).

Your session is a time for you to have fun. You don't have to be nervous that you will get a good shot, let me handle that. Just relax and trust that you will be pleased with the results.

Step 4Choose favorite images and be wowed by Photoshop.
Once we have the images recorded, we will sit together and choose favorites. The editing process includes retouching, color balancing and cropping - all of which I will do with you sitting by my side. Anything I can't fix with photography, I can fix with Photoshop! Believe it or not, I can fix those little imperfections like blemishes, wrinkles and, yes, even a double chin.

Step 5Leave happy. Refer your friends.

The Studio

The studio is located at: 8701 W. Parmer Lane, Suite 1121, Austin, TX 78729

It is in "The Artisan" on W. Parmer Lane (5 miles W. of Mopac) between Anderson Mill and Hwy 620. It is the 3-level, colorful residential/retail center best known for Seattle's Best Coffee (which has unfortunately closed, but the sign is still up). I am in the first building on the left.

Parking: There is plenty of parking on 3 sides of the building, but not in front.  You may park in any open space, however you do need to walk back to the front of the building and enter through the door that reads: Korey Howell Photography.

Doggy on Duty:  We live above the studio and so our 10lb four-legged, furry companion Rufus is a staple in the studio.  Don't worry, he's a lover - not a biter!  He will alert me you are here, sniff you out, give you a lick and settle into his little bed for the duration of our session.  If you are allergic or are bringing your dog for a session or just don't like dogs, just let me know.

How to Prepare

Please be on time for your appointment .  Plan about  2 hours for the session. If for any reason you cannot keep your appointment, please let me know.

Hair and Makeup

Wear your hair and makeup the way you normally do and I will make adjustments for the camera. Bring your makeup bag with you especially your powder, mascara and favorite lipstick. If you would like to arrange a full makeup session or need a hair appointment, please let me know.

Clothing
Wear one outfit and bring 2-3 additional choices. I will help you select what will work best.

Contrary to popular belief, there are no absolutes when selecting a wardrobe for portraits. Feel free to bring anything you feel looks good on you. If you feel good in what you are wearing, you will exude confidence that will come through.

In general, solids are better than patterns. V-necks are better than scoop necks. Long sleeves are better than short sleeves. Simple is better. Jewelry is best simple unless your style is flashy and it is a signature for you.

Couples and families should wear the same color or tone rather than contrasting colors. Black and white are preferred so that we can capture dramatic results.

Payment

Payment is expected at time of service. I prefer a credit card and accept Visa, Mastercard, American Express and Discover. If you need to pay by check or cash, that's ok, too.
